What to Expect and FAQs
Initial Consultation Session
Prospective clients are encouraged to contact Mona to schedule an initial consultation session. This session consists of reviewing the Informed Consent and policies for therapy, discussing reasons for seeking treatment, and collectively determining whether Mona will be a good fit for your ongoing treatment. Mona does not offer a free initial consultation session but strongly recommends coordinating a 15-minute brief phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial session.
Duration of Treatment
Early in treatment, Mona will work with clients to mutually decide upon goals and objectives for treatment. The overall duration of treatment can be mutually decided upon by the client and Mona and should be based upon the unique needs and objective(s) of each person(s) seeking treatment. Some clients benefit and prefer short-term therapy while others prefer a long-term approach. Feel free to discuss your preferences with Mona directly. Sessions are 50 minutes in length for Individuals and 60 minutes for Couples.
Your treatment is voluntary. Therefore, know that you have the option of discontinuing therapy at any time. Typically, the completion of treatment is mutually decided upon by yourself and Mona and occurs upon successful completion of your objectives and goals for treatment.
Cost of Sessions
Mona’s rate for individual sessions is $200 and with couples, $225. Mona offers a sliding scale for persons experiencing financial difficulties and does so because she believes that finances should not act as a deterrent from seeking therapy. Feel free to contact Mona to negotiate a psychotherapy rate that suits your needs. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted at the end of each scheduled session.
At this time, Mona does not accept private insurance. Dependent on insurance plan, she is able to submit a superbill for potential reimbursement. Prior to your enrollment in therapy, please contact your insurance provider to determine your reimbursement rates for behavioral health services by an “out-of-network provider.” Please note that insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order to qualify for reimbursement.
Mona requires a 48-hour notice of cancellation in order to avoid a full payment fee for a missed session.
